Revamping Bunch Out… again?
On one hand, marketing a web application allows me to adapt the product to user feedback on the fly.
On the other hand, it can be an excuse to not “get it right” the first time… rely too much on user feedback instead of your own ingenuity to make product development and user experience decisions.
Ladies and gentlemen, I will try and get it right this time.
Why? Because I’ll be doing some massive press and blog promotion and I can’t afford to muck around with an unclear web application.
Thanks again for all your feedback my friends. I’ll be rolling out improvements, as well as THE FULL APP after the weekend.

Hey, I like this idea. I think it’s fresh and it’s great. I was reading your prev post. And also about your current post. And I remember reading Getting Real by 37Signals (those people who made BaseCamp, TadaList, etc). I think that’s the best marketing & development book I’ve read, when it comes to web apps that is.
One part that I really take home is this — just build it and launch it and improve along the way as you get more feedbacks from users. Fortunately with the web app business model, we can afford to do this. And launching, something new online is not as difficult or as expensive (though I have no idea what you spent on this) as opening a retail store.
And about connecting the dots. Well, because putting together an online business is easy, maybe we should just do something and let the public be the judge. Sometimes people just can’t imagine what we are telling them, until we show them what it really is.
So far looks good. Another idea that made me think, “Why didn’t I think of that?”
All the best!
Just go all the way my friend. If you spend yourself too much time listening and implementing feedbacks that come from all angles, you will never get yourself anywhere.
The only ideas you should look for are ideas which are radical yet able to keep the core concept of BunchOut intact …. something like what Facebook did 2 years ago. A relatively ordinary social-networking site became a big worldwide hit once they implemented ‘Applications’ on it. Needlessly to say,in recent days, Applications has, to a certain extent, left some deep impression on the Web 2.0 arena.
So you see … the core idea … and the complementary idea … two different things.
All the best =)
